Adaptensor, Inc. ("Adaptensor," "we," "us," or "our") operates the AdaptBooks platform at books.adaptensor.io and api.adaptbooks.io (the "Service"). This Privacy Policy describes how we collect, use, disclose, and protect your personal information when you use our Service.
1. Information We Collect
Account Information
When you create an account, we collect your name, email address, and authentication credentials. If you sign up via Google OAuth, we receive your name, email address, and profile picture from Google. We do not receive or store your Google password.
Business Data
When you use AdaptBooks, you enter business data including product catalogs, customer records, vendor information, sales transactions, accounting entries, and financial reports. This data is stored in our database and is essential to providing the Service. We do not access, analyze, or use your business data for any purpose other than providing the Service to you.
Usage Data
We automatically collect information about how you interact with the Service, including pages visited, features used, browser type, device type, IP address, and timestamps. This data helps us improve the Service and diagnose technical issues.
Payment Information
Subscription payments are processed by Stripe. We do not store your credit card number, CVC, or full card details. We receive and store only a payment token, your card's last four digits, expiration date, and billing address for receipt and tax purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use your information to:
- Provide, maintain, and improve the Service
- Process transactions and send related communications
- Send account-related notifications (security alerts, billing, support)
- Respond to your requests and support inquiries
- Monitor and analyze usage patterns to improve the Service
- Detect, prevent, and address fraud, abuse, and security issues
- Comply with legal obligations
3. Data Sharing and Disclosure
We do not sell your personal information. We do not share your business data with third parties for their marketing purposes. We may share information with:
- Service Providers: Third-party companies that help us operate the Service, including Clerk (authentication), Neon (database hosting), Railway (application hosting), Vercel (frontend hosting), and Stripe (payment processing). These providers are contractually obligated to protect your data.
- AI Providers: When you use AdaptGent, your queries (but not your raw business data) are sent to Anthropic for processing. Anthropic does not use your inputs to train their models.
- Legal Requirements: We may disclose information if required by law, subpoena, court order, or governmental regulation, or if we believe disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety, or the safety of others.
- Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of assets, your information may be transferred as part of that transaction. We will notify you via email or prominent notice on the Service before your data is transferred and becomes subject to a different privacy policy.
4. Data Security
We implement industry-standard security measures to protect your data. All data is encrypted in transit (TLS 1.3) and at rest (AES-256). We use PostgreSQL Row-Level Security (RLS) to enforce strict data isolation between customers. Access to production systems is restricted and logged. For more details, see our Security page.
5. Data Retention
We retain your account data and business data for as long as your account is active. If you close your account, we will delete your business data within 30 days. We may retain anonymized, aggregated data that cannot identify you for analytics purposes. We retain billing records as required by tax and accounting regulations (typically 7 years).
6. Your Rights
Depending on your jurisdiction, you may have the following rights:
- Access: Request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
- Correction: Request correction of inaccurate personal data.
- Deletion: Request deletion of your personal data, subject to legal retention requirements.
- Data Portability: Request an export of your data in a machine-readable format.
- Opt-Out: Opt out of marketing communications at any time.

7. California Privacy Rights (CCPA)
If you are a California resident, you have additional rights under the California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA). You have the right to know what personal information we collect and how we use it, request deletion of your personal information, and opt out of the sale of your personal information. We do not sell personal information.
8. Children's Privacy
The Service is not intended for use by anyone under the age of 16. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 16. If we learn that we have collected personal information from a child under 16, we will take steps to delete that information.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by posting a notice on the Service or sending you an email. Your continued use of the Service after the effective date of the revised policy constitutes acceptance of the changes.
