Painless Migration

QuickBooks to AdaptBooks

Your complete guide to migrating from QuickBooks POS, Desktop, or Online. Your data, your history, imported in minutes.

How It Works

1

Export Your Data

From QuickBooks POS, go to File > Utilities > Export and save your data as CSV. From QuickBooks Desktop, use File > Utilities > Export > Lists to IIF and File > Export > Accountant Copy. From QuickBooks Online, use Reports to export your Chart of Accounts, Customer List, Vendor List, Product/Service List, and transaction history as CSV files.

2

Upload to AdaptBooks

Log into AdaptBooks and navigate to Settings > Migration. Drag and drop your export files — we accept CSV, IIF, and QBW backup formats. Our parser automatically detects the file format and extracts your data.

3

Map Your Accounts

Our visual account mapper shows your QuickBooks chart of accounts on the left and the AdaptBooks chart on the right. We auto-match most accounts by name and type. Review the mappings, adjust any that need it, and confirm. Products, customers, and vendors are mapped automatically.

4

Review & Go Live

Preview your imported data — check balances, verify customer records, spot-check product prices. When you're satisfied, confirm the import. Your complete history is now in AdaptBooks. Start using the system immediately — ring up sales, run reports, reconcile accounts.
